Marie Kathryn LeLievre

April 8, 1933 – October 17, 2021

Marie Kathryn (Curley) LeLievre, 88, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 17, 2021, with her beloved husband Dennis by her side.

Marie was born on April 8, 1933 in Boston Massachusetts, the daughter of the late William F. and Kathryn A. (Graham) Curley. Marie grew up in Wayland, Massachusetts, where she graduated from Wayland High School in the class of 1951. After high school she attended Massachusetts College of Art.

She met her future husband Dennis at Dean Dairy in Weston, MA. She always made sure he received an “extra scoop.” She married Dennis in 1954 at St. Ann Church, Wayland, MA. Marie and Dennis eventually settled in Marlborough, MA where they resided for 45 years. She had three beautiful daughters, Diane, Karen, and Denise. She enjoyed painting, gardening, baking, sewing, and camping.

After the girls were grown, Marie started a new career at Raytheon Corporation, working there until retirement. In her retirement, she loved spending time with her family and friends, playing games and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and visiting new places with her lifelong sweetheart and husband while travelling around the country in their RV. They made many new friends where Marie’s warm sense of humor always shined through. Marie’s faith was an important part of her life and Marie and Dennis attended weekly Mass no matter where they traveled.

Marie was known throughout the family and beyond for her molasses cookies and gingerbread boys. She loved people and enjoyed entertaining, especially the annual Christmas night parties. It was important to her to attend the birthday parties, graduations, sport games, and recitals of her beloved grandchildren. She believed in the great value of education and encouraged her children and grandchildren to follow their passions.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dennis; by her loving children, Diane Brigham (Bradley) of Etiwanda, CA, Karen Valovcin (David) of Naples, FL, and Denise Martin of Worcester MA; her grandchildren Brooke (Michelle), Kristina, Matthew, Katie, Andie (Charles), and Mark; her great grandchildren Connor and Asher; her brother Joseph Curley (Dianne) and her sister Ellen Chaisson; and many loving nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her brothers William F. Curley, James M. Curley, Daniel J. Curley, and her son-in-law Dennis J. Martin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 8, 2021, at 10:00 AM at St. Matthias Church 409 Hemenway Street Marlborough, MA 01752. Marie will rest in peace on Cape Cod at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
