Obituary

Marilyn Majeri, 77, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2022 with her loving husband and children by her side. She was born to Irving and Florence (Elger) Sanders in Chicago, IL on October 9, 1944. She is survived by her husband Anton Majeri Jr with whom she was married to for almost 52 years, her daughter Michelle Majeri Florio (Steven) and her son, Christopher Majeri (Kim) and five grandchildren: Kyle, Luke, Gabrielle, Caroline and Justin. She also leaves behind a sister Judith Geati, three nephews and one niece. She is predeceased by her parents and one grandchild, Hope.
Marilyn graduated from St. Scholastica Academy in Chicago, IL in 1966 and went on to graduate from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. She worked as a teacher and after marrying the love of her life, Anton Majeri Jr, in 1970, she left the teaching profession for several years to focus on motherhood. She returned to teaching second grade at Hawthorn School District in Vernon Hills, Illinois for 25 plus years until her retirement. Marilyn valued education and was a staunch advocate for her deaf children to make sure they had full access which included sign language. She was always wearing a teacher’s hat. Marilyn and Tony retired to Fort Myers, Florida in 2006 where they spent many happy years in retirement.
Family and friends are invited to the mass and burial on May 4, 2022 at 1 pm at Blessed Pope John XXIII Catholic Church 13060 Palomino Lane Fort Myers, FL 33912.
