Obituary
Marilyn A. Mandrell went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2021. Marilyn was born on May 4, 1935, along with her twin sister, Marjorie, in Torrington, CT, daughters of the late Jesse and Helen Mae Peterson.
After high school she attended a technical school in CT and became a hair stylist. She worked as a hair stylist for 50 years and said she loved every minute of it. She loved making patrons look great. She worked first in Connecticut and then in Florida. In Florida she worked at several beauty salons and was co-owner of a salon. Later she built a small salon in her home and worked from home.
She moved to Florida in her 20’s and stayed for the rest of her life. She always thought Florida was such a new and beautiful place to live. She liked warm weather.
She had a lot of interests that kept her busy. She volunteered at the Lowry Park Zoo (Zoo Tampa), and the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (The Straz Center). She also volunteered for many years at the Raymond James Stadium cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She was a football fan for life! She also square danced with the Temple Twirlers in Tampa.
Marilyn was a “people person” who enjoyed life. She also cared about her family and wanted them to know the Lord as she did. We miss her, but we know she is free from her pain and suffering and is enjoying her new heavenly home.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Kim Kisacky, and son-in-law, George Kisacky, of Bradenton, FL. She is also survived by her sister Marjorie and (Raymond) Bittner of Pocono Lake, PA, and her brother Jesse Peterson of Harwinton, CT, and 3 grandchildren: Aaron and (Louise) Kisacky, Faith Kisacky, and James Kisacky. She also has 2 great-grandchildren, Ethan and Lucas Kisacky.
A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Bible Church in Bradenton, FL on Sept. 25 at 10:30AM.
