Marion was married to James McClellan in November 1975. Both worked for BASF Wyandotte Chemicals. Jim was on temporary assignment in Parsippany, New Jersey and Marion worked in the payroll department.
After they married and Jim retired, they moved from their home in Detroit, Michigan to Charlotte, North Carolina. Here Marion pursued her love of art. She was both a painter and teacher of watercolors. She began by volunteering at the Mint Museum and eventually became docent at the museum. She was passionate about children’s programs at the museum, enjoyed watching the children learning about, and participating in various forms of art.
She and Jim traveled to many parts of the world, sharing their passion for new people, new places and foods. They decorated their home in Charlotte with various art forms brought home from their travels.
She and Jim moved from Charlotte to Florida in February to be close to family. She will be remembered as a vibrant woman who was always interested in her surroundings and as a wonderful wife to Jim.
