Marion was my mentor and CTA "mom". She taught me how to negotiate and how to lead. The reason I am running for President is because of her influence and guidance. We spent the last seven years celebrating the holidays with an annual dinner with close friends. She would have dinners at her house for other friends. She was a very generous person with her money and her time. She loved the union, animals, her students and fellow teachers, movies, books and politics and not in that order. Her legacy is what she left with each of us. I can hear her voice and her way of explaining play in my head over and over. So many have told me stories about her influencing them to get involved in something; whether it was politics, the union, reading, or a phone bank. You didn't tell her no. We have all lost an icon and she will never be replaced. She was one of a kind. Rest in Peace Marion.
