Obituary
Marjorie Elaine Taylor was born on the island of St. Kitts on November 28th, 1937. There she began working at an early age to help support her family. Marjorie worked as a housekeeper at Blakely Hotel and a waitress at Amory’s Coffee Shop.
Marjorie loved life, family members and friends. One of her favorite hobby was dancing so on her time off, the Factory Social Center “12 to 6 Dance Party” was where she showed her “skill” in dancing. Christmas was her favorite holiday where she enjoyed the carnival festivities.
During her time in St. Kitts, Marjorie bore two children, Avril and Ashley, and put them through private school as she wanted the best for her children. In the early sixties, she left St. Kitts in search for a better life for her and her family. She first migrated to St. Thomas, then moved to Puerto Rico where she settled for approximately 30 years. During those years in Puerto Rico, she bore her third and last child, Shawn. In the early nineties, she relocated to Miami, Florida, where she lived with her daughter Avril until she moved on her own.
Marjorie continued to work as a housekeeper and took a nanny position for the Byar’s family. Marjorie never owned a car, but she was as mobile as she could be with a Golden Bus Pass. In her down time, she took pleasure in watching soap operas, Law and Order and the Maury Show. She was an expert at talking back to the television. Her final position was a custodian at the Department of Children and Families where she made many friends before retiring in her late sixties. After retiring, she devoted her life to taking care of her grandchildren by making sure they got home safely from school and were well fed until their parents came home from work.
Marjorie died peacefully on February 02, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother Edith Daniel and her sister Patricia Daniel.
