Obituary

On Tuesday, February 7, 2012 Marjory M Falkner, 82, accepted her Savior’s invitation to join Him in Heaven. Marjory “Margie” was born on January 22, 1930 in Norfolk, New York to Edward and Pauline Mahoney Murphy. She graduated from Potsdam NY High School and attended what is now SUNY at Potsdam. During her first year of college she met Merle “Butch” Falkner and they were married June 4, 1949. Early in her married life Marjory received Jesus as her Savior and loved studying the Bible, being involved in church activities and serving in Stonecroft Ministries. She was chosen to help establish a Christian Women’s Club in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Marjory was a member of First Presbyterian Church New Smyrna Beach. In her midlife she studied hard and passed the Real Estate exam on the first try. She did work in Real Estate, but her real love was being a homemaker. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 62 years, her daughter Bonnie and Ron Astman of New Smyrna Beach, her son Jeffrey Falkner and special friend Lynda Farkosh of Natrona Heights, PA, and her son David and Amy Falkner of Murrysville, PA. Grandchildren include David and Ileana Astman of Fort Worth, TX, Brian and Megan Astman of Cleveland, OH, Sadie Rose Falkner and Jackson Falkner of Murrysville, PA, two great grandchildren Brianna Astman and Brenner Astman of Fort Worth, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers William Murphy and Paul Murphy and her sister Maureen Murphy Stone. Life Celebration will be 11:00 AM Thursday, February 23 at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place North Causeway New Smyrna Beach with The Reverend David Keazirian pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating. The care and compassion given by VITAS Hospice was outstanding. Memorial donations may be made to VITAS 2381 Mason Avenue Daytona Beach FL 32114 or Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17 Chicago, IL 60601-7633. The care and compassion given by VITAS Hospice was outstanding.
