Obituary

Marta Lee Gietzen, 71 of Plant City, Florida. Entered into eternal rest on August 28, 2020 surrounded by her family.

Marta born in Antigo, Wisconsin also lived in San Antonio, Texas. Marta obtained her Associate’s in Sciences Degree from Hillsborough Community College. Marta owned many hair salons. She has also practiced as a Private Investigator in the State of Florida with her husband Robert Gietzen whom she married in 1966 and subsequently raised five girls.

Marta is preceded in death by her Mother Dorothy Broussard and Father; Kenneth Dowling. Sister; Linda Gillespie, and son-in-law John M. Jones. Marta  is survived by her husband, Robert” Bill” Gietzen, Brother John (Barbara) Dowling, Lee (Theresa) Broussard, and sister Geni (Perri) Dowling Daughters: Lisa(Keith) O’brien, Cristal M. Gietzen , Jaime M. Gietzen-Jones, Sunnye (David) Macca, Desarae’ (Bradley) Mace. As well as her 13 grandchildren. Kristopher, Dylan, Karleigh, Beau, Chloe, Karys, Griffin, Hazel, David Jr., Mia’, Katalyn, Kristina, and Kodey.

Marta was constantly doing wedding and prom “hairdos” for the handfuls of friends her girls brought home. You can bet if you lived within 50 miles, Marta has done your hair or someone’s hair you know.

Marta; a true wife and mother, but to speak her name was synonymous with  “Grandmother”. Marta loved her Grandchildren. Even when she didn’t have time, she had time for them…just when it seemed there just couldn’t be room for one more she made sure to show us exactly how there could be. Marta loved to sew and this favorite pastime was clearly evident every time there was a new arrival, even if they were friends of friends ; she was sewing. Marta was the person who always had something helpful to say, she always had a kind word even if in a difficult situation she seemed to always have a different spin, but always trying her best to solve the problem…she really was thought of as EVERYONE’S Mom.

Mom, we will miss you our entire lives.
