Martha L Lukeman
Lady Lake, Florida-
Martha L Lukeman, 99 years old of Lady Lake passed away Wednesday, November 27th, 2019.
She was born August 29th, 1920 in Franklin Illinois, the daughter of Albert and Claire Reinbach Lukeman.
She worked in Springfield Illinois as an Administrative Assistant for the State of Illinois after caring for her mother and father on the family farm in Franklin Illinois.
She was engaged to the love of her life Glen Little for over 20 years and he preceded her in death in 1983. She and Glen traveled many places and settled in Naples Florida after leaving Illinois. Martha’s dog Trace was her faithful companion for 15 years and thought of him as her child.
She called The Villages her home since her move from Naples in 2004 where she made many friends, enjoyed wonderful neighbors and an active lifestyle. Her time in the Villages was shared by her best friend Dave A. Luxton where they participated in activities of mutual interest. Martha enjoyed dancing, bingo and many cruises in her lifetime. She was cared for by her friend Sandi Caspers and her dog Teddy in the last year of her life.
Martha was a faithful member of St Timothy’s Catholic Church and Associate member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Martha is survived by two cousins, Bob Lukeman and Jean Harrison and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mary Morris, sisters Eloise Benson, Elre McCollister, Polly Turner, brothers Al Lukeman and John Lukeman.
Cremation Rites were accorded.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date
Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society oversees arrangements.
