Obituary
On Monday, October 10, 2022, Marvin Bruce Powlas, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away. He was seventy-five. Born to Alma and Craver Earl Powlas, Bruce graduated from Eau Gallie High School in Melbourne, FL, served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam, graduated from Lake City College with a degree in Horticulture, and worked in said field his whole life.
Bruce loved fishing, landscaping, music, old western films, books, cigars, and cold beer. He will be remembered for the mischievous twinkle in his sky blue eyes and his warm smile. He is survived by his daughters, Rachael and Chloe, grandsons, Isaac Bruce and Levi Nicholas, and brothers, Ronald and Dan.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 10 a.m. in the Riverwoods Plantation Clubhouse (4600 Robert E. Lee Boulevard East, Estero, FL 33928). In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to the Fish & Wildlife Foundation of Florida.

*He gave me my first job working over the summer at his nursery, and even when my performance was sub par, he would just walk away and shake his head! He had such a grace about him!
*I remember him grilling the best barbecue chicken and was always quite the chef! I loved eating his food, especially with a beer! We both loved Coors Light!
*I remember him loving his German Shepard Tank and would carry him when he was sick...and, he was so big!
*I loved to make him laugh, he had the best laugh with that sparkle in his beautiful, blue eyes. Rachael has his eyes!
*He loved his cranky older brother--sharing their love of reading about wars and war heroes!
*And, I loved how he said, when my daughter was little, "she's so cute, I just want to kiss her face!"
*He was so proud of his girls and now his two boys...it was so sweet! His love was so pure!
*We did not speak often, but when we did, it was if we had just spoken to each other the week before!
*I will miss you Uncle Bruce...so very, very much!
