Obituary
Mary Ann Bartlett (Kachan), 69 of Fort Myers, FL passed away peacefully with immediate family by her side at Gulf Coast Medical Center on May 24th, 2024 at 1:31 pm. Mary Ann was born to Edwin (Whitey) Kachan and Ruth Kachan on July 4th, 1954 in Chicago, IL. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband Herbert J. Bartlett, her treasured sons Herbert J. Bartlett Jr. (Katherine Moyer), Michael Bartlett (Megan Ciolli) and her daughter and best friend Amy Bartlett; her grandchildren, Lillian, Vivian, Wyatt, Maren, Hazel and Kevin; her siblings Cynthia Preston, Kevin Kachan and Darrel Kachan; and many cherished nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mary Ann grew up in Morton Grove, IL and attended Saint Norbert College in De Pere, WI. Upon graduation Mary Ann began her 45 year career at the College of American Pathologists retiring as the Vice President of Finance in 2022. Mary Ann spent retirement enjoying Florida, living life to its fullest with family and friends in the pool and at the beach. Mary Ann enjoyed spending time reading, and playing cards or bingo. Mary Ann’s favorite role in life was being a mother to her three children and Grandma to her six grandchildren who she loved beyond measure.
In celebration of her esteemed life, the family will hold events in both Fort Myers, FL and Morton Grove, IL at later dates. Please consider making a charitable donation to the College of American Pathologists, CAP Foundation or Saint Norbert College in her name.
