In Loving Memory of Mary Ann “Dobby” Leonarda Clay-Schumm

Mary Ann “Dobby” Leonarda Clay-Schumm of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully at the young age of 50 on February 16th, 2018.

Mary Ann was born in Willoughby, Ohio to Beverly Jean Clay-Kalfas & Mondle Enos Clay on July 4th. 1967.  She attended Saint Ambrose Catholic Elementary and Brunswick High School in Ohio.  She married the love of her life Mark Allan Schumm on December 13th, 2005. She was a well-known travel agent for many years which led her to become both owner and operator of her own agency, Travel Works. When health issues took her away from her agency she turned to her love of crafting. She never did anything halfway and her crafts were no exception. She could turn anything into a work of art and never limited herself to any one medium. She started her own crafting groups and was a moderator or member of many others. Everything that she touched was made with love and people saw that in her work.

Mary Ann was truly an inspiration to many. In her life she never met someone who didn’t soon become her friend. With many of them becoming a part of her family. No matter how much pain or how sick she became she always had a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She never gave up and fought to the very end.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by Leonarda Theresa Marie (Vorndran) Ragazinskas, Michael David Clay, Mondle Enos Clay, Loretta June Doebler, Avice Ann, Edward Adams, Shawn Buschow, Joseph Rudolph Kalfas, Billie Joe Vinson, Marion Lorraine Schumm & Harold Henry Schumm.

Mary Ann is survived by her devoted husband Mark Allan Schumm, her dear sisters Marlene Vinson & Margaret Clay, her loving mother Beverly Jean Clay-Kalfas, her niece who was like a daughter to her Marilyn (Carl) Clay-Glidden, her God children Aaron & Alexis Glidden, and many additional aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, family and friends.

The family of Mary Ann wishes to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who brightened her life throughout the years including her final days.

Memorials donations may be sent to the following PayPal link set up specifically for Mary Ann through her niece Marilyn’s account. No PayPal account required to donate.          paypal.me/MaryAnnMemorial
