Obituary

Mary Iannaccone, 60, of The Villages Florida passed away on July 17th after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Mary was born March 16th, 1959 to Paul and Roberta Iannaccone in Waterbury CT. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1977, she attended Saint Vincent College where she earned a Certificate of Nursing. Mary continued her education by earning a Bachelors degree in Nursing at Rhode Island College; and then a Masters in Nursing at Boston University in 1986.

After graduation, Mary landed a position at Connecticut Community Care Inc. where she launched a successful twenty year career. In 2000, Mary met Dave Roginielewicz whom she subsequently married in 2004.

After retiring in 2006, Mary spent much of her time volunteering at local schools – focusing on career guidance and mentoring of teenage girls. In 2013, Mary and Dave moved to The Villages, Florida. She continued her volunteer activities in the Fruitland Park school system and at the local Cornerstone Hospice. She also knitted caps for US military personnel through Operation Shoebox. Mary viewed life as a blessing and constantly enjoyed helping others. Her other pursuits included reading, sketching, and walking her beloved beagle, Daisy.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Roberta Iannaccone, and her sister Lucille Stanco. She is survived by her husband of fifteen years Dave Roginielewicz, bother Paul Iannaccone and wife Karyn, brother-in-law Ernie Stanco, and nephew Andrew Stanco.

Donations in Mary’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Memorial services are pending.

I was so very sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. I was best friends with her cousin Janice growing up, and the (Paul) Iannaccones lived up the street from us. I always remember Mary as sweet and smiling. We also moved to The Villages in 2013...I wish I knew she was here. I would have loved to reconnect with her. My heart goes out to her husband and family.
