Mary Hawley ,82 Port Orange Fl passed away peacefully Tuesday , May 19, 2020 after a courageous battle with COPD. Mary leaves behind her husband, Gordon to whom she had a loving marriage for 62 years, her sister Helen Zampiello and her husband Dick, her children, David Hawley and his wife Betty of Kayenta, AZ, Alison Barrasso and her partner Pedro Santa Cruz of Bedminster ,NJ four grandchildren Joseph,Johanna,John, and Andrew. She also leaves behind 3 close cousins Helen, Janet and Joan as well as 27 nieces and nephews. She will join her mother Anna, father Andrew and sisters Anne, Katherine, Dorothy in heaven. Mary was born and raised in Fairfield, CT and lived in New Hampshire and then Florida. Mary worked as a receptionist to put her children through college. She was involved in the PTA, Big brothers/Big sisters association, Red Hats association. Mary’s passion was traveling to the islands and spending time with friends and family. In her later years she enjoyed the friendships and pool in Colony in the Wood in Florida. She was a very kind and generous person as she welcomed Ramon a foreign exchange student, a niece and nephew all to live at her home. Mary always had a smile on her face and didn’t get stressed out about life. She was the fun and cool mother who somehow trusted her children to make the right decisions in life. She will be missed very much. A private memorial will be held. In honor of her life we ask you to do something special for a loved one during this pandemic.
