Mary Margaret Luge Hachman of Tavares, FL, born August 25, 1926, to Paul C. and Mary E. (Looney) Luge in Versailles Borough, PA, went to her heavenly home March 13, 2017.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power Lab in West Mifflin, PA. In 1990 she relocated to Florida and settled at Lake Frances Estates in Tavares. There she continued her love of music by playing the accordion, piano, harmonica and singing at most community events, remaining there until her death. Mary Margaret had a very full and adventurous life. She loved golfing, skiing, horseback riding getaways and traveling through the United States, Canada, Europe, Israel and Russia with a camera always around her neck.
Her hobbies were photography, video tapping weddings, knitting, ceramics, and making beautifully jeweled dolls and trees. Mary Margaret was loved by and touched so many lives through her warm personality, sense of humor, and enthusiasm of life.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Mae Cavanaugh and Helen Ruffing.
She is survived by her brother Paul C. Luge, Tulsa, OK, cousin, Ray Looney, Ft. Myers, FL, ten nieces and nephews, twelve great nieces and nephews and her dog Barney.
There will be a 9:00am Funeral Mass, on March 30th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mt. Dora, of which Mary Margaret was a church and choir member. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of calling hours, a meet and greet brunch in the parish hall follows the burial.
