Obituary
Mary Elaine Taylor, born on June 15, 1934, passed peacefully in her New Smyrna Beach, Florida home, surrounded by love, without illness.
She leaves behind a legacy of family, joy, and cherished connections. Mary is survived by her devoted children: Michael and Kim Richardson of New Smyrna Beach, Susan and Ronald Shane of Fisher Island, Florida; Linda and Douglas Proulx of New Hampshire; and Diane Coston of Vermont; as well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and many longtime friends who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Originally from Laconia, NH, Mary spent her younger years in Nashua and Merrimack, NH. In 1991, she settled in New Smyrna Beach, where she volunteered at Bert Fish hospital for 19 years. Mary was a cherished member of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. She married Robert B. Richardson on Jan 10, 1952, who passed away 5 years and 2 days before Mary’s passing. Her sister, Marion Taylor Halgren of Pennsylvania, survives her. Mary found joy in simple pleasures, her most recent being watching Blue Bloods. Her memory lives on in the hearts she touched.

Mary cherished her time in New Smyrna Beach, finding joy in its captivating beauty, serene beaches, and welcoming community. The city’s relaxed coastal lifestyle, historic downtown, and various outdoor activities made her experience truly unforgettable.
A Celebration of Life service for Mary E. Richardson is scheduled for 01:00 pm EST on 9/08/23 at Saint Peter of the Fisherman on Saxon Street, with a small gathering after at the Club House and Pool at Oceanwalk, swim suits are welcome.
