Obituary

Mary Segreto, 95, Lincoln Park, NJ, completed her journey into the arms of her beloved husband, Tony Segreto, on December 14, 2013, in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Their love together now continues to expand, to deepen, and to be even more sacred into eternity. In 1965, Mary became Tony's wife and step-mother of two young teenagers, Tony and Billy, after the passing of their mother of cancer. Her dedication to her husband and these young boys is a lasting tribute of a life of peace, serenity, devotion and unconditional love. With her positive perspective of life came a quiet role model, teaching understanding and acceptance of all to each of her loved ones, while gracefully continuing to watch over her nieces, nephews, family and friends. Never did she judge, criticize or say an unkind word of anyone. Purely selfless in nature, she gently gave her peace to everyone with whom she came into contact. During the 1930's-1950's, Mary was a career business women with Singer Corporation. After marrying Tony, she successfully ran their own construction business, Dormer Builders, in Lincoln Park, New Jersey. Mary spent most of her life in New Jersey. Born at home in South River in 1918, she moved to Manville where she lived throughout her youth. She moved to Lincoln Park in 1965 where she was an avid tennis player, and member of the Lincoln Park Swim Club. She enjoyed entertaining, loved gardening and sewing, enjoyed painting nature, and exquisitely decorated their lovely homes. Her sweet nature, her graciousness and generosity of spirit, her kindness and compassion, will be missed by everyone who ever came into her presence. Go forth, Sweet "Angel", your mansion and your continuation of your life with your beloved Tony, awaits ... Funeral Mass and Internment: (Tony and Mary will be honored at a mass and buried together on their WEDDING ANNIVERSARY, in the church where they were married.) 9:00 AM July 18, 2014 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church 98 S. 2nd Ave. Manville, New Jersey.

As this year draws to an end, I am remembering all of the times of my childhood spent with Aunt Mary, my God-mother. So many snippets of places and events unfold like an old time movie, holidays with family, special events and then the ordinary, regular every day events of my childhood. I am sure that Aunt Mary is at peace with Uncle Tony and her sisters Irene and Betty and my dad Ben as well as all of the others that have gone before her. I look forward to Celebrating her life with all of you in July. Until then, I bet she is getting those dancing shoes ready. Love, Monica

My heartfelt condolences go out to family and friends. My very brief encounters with Mary this year showed me immediately what a wonderful, what a beautiful person she was inside and out. I can't imagine the pain you have in your hearts but I do wish to share this pain with you with the hope that it strengthens you all and gives you all the clarity to focus on celebrating her life. Best...Gary
