Obituary
Mary Ann Wichmann was born July 12, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan, and died April 22, 2022. Despite a history of many medical ailments including breast, lung, bone, and brain cancer, she was a model of grace through her suffering. She gave her all unto the end.
Mary Ann graduated from Osborn High School in 1962. She then attended Macomb Community College and Wayne State University. She later became a civil servant using her skills of typing and stenography as an administrative assistant for the City of Detroit and later for Wayne County. After retiring, she volunteered at local hospitals. She enjoyed music immensely as a child and began taking violin lessons. As an adult she shared her musical talent by joining the Grosse Pointe Community Orchestra. Other leisure activities included dancing, tennis, knitting, traveling, reading, and playing cards or word games with her friends. She was especially fond of spending time with her grand-niece and grand-nephews: Anna and J.J. Glass, and Ethan Santiago.
She will be deeply missed by her sister Fran Grier (John), her nieces, (R) Capt. Jennifer Grier, Dr. Rebecca Grier and her many friends. Preceded in death by: Parents Charles Frederick and Anna Ella (Sautter) Wichmann and brother Charles Jacob Wichmann.
