Obituary

Maryann Horan Juett, 90, of Winter Park, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2017.  She was born in Catonsville, MD to William Edward Horan and Bernardine Wilson Horan.

Maryann spent most of her life in Winter Park, Florida, where she was very active in the local community.  She was a very giving and caring person who always enjoyed helping people.

Those that met Maryann, quickly realized that she was a classy and sophisticated lady who freely expressed herself and enjoyed socializing with her friends.  She was quite the hostess at personal gatherings.

She is survived by her 5 step-children, Marci Juett of Frankfort, KY, Michael Juett (Sherry) of Orlando, FL, Pat Juett (Monica) of Georgetown, KY, Cheryl (Greg) Corbin of Frankfort, KY, and Temple (Carol) Juett of Georgetown, KY, as well as 10 grandchildren.

Maryann was a private person and requested that there be no funeral service for her.  She will be laid to rest with her pre-deceased husband, Esrom Gayle Juett, in the family cemetery in Minorsville, KY.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Maryann's death today. I met Maryann at the Winter Park Croquet Club and grew very fond of her. She was so kind and patient when teaching novices like myself the fine points of the game. I visited Maryann last year with my
friend Sue Goodman. We planned on visiting her again this year
after returning from the summer in Maine.

I just found out that Maryann died today. I found out as I had mailed her a birthday card (early) for her 91st birthday and it was returned in the mail today as undeliverable. I then searched the obituaries as I feared for the worst at her age. I am so sad to find out about her passing. I met Maryann in 1985 when I worked with her at Winter Park Mall. Maryann and I remained friends since that time. We always exchanged birthday cards up until she broke her wrist and went to the rehab home. Maryann was the very best and a very talented lady. She was still helping others and delivering food to other elderly folks at the age of 85! Very strong woman to be admired and very dear and sweet friend. I always enjoyed her funny jokes and things she would send via email. Years ago my husband and I visited her at home and she did love her great big orange tabby cat. I will miss her terribly and miss her joy and happiness and strength! She was a role model to me and I loved her very much. My deepest condolences to the family.

I was so sad to find this listing today. Maryann and I almost share a birthday (mine is the 3rd, hers the 4th) and always exchanged cards. I was also part of her email listserve and looked forward to the anecdotes and jokes she sent around. She was married to my grandfather before she married Gayle and we stayed in touch long after their marriage ended. I hope she's playing croquet with an adult beverage in her hand.
