Obituary

Maryann McNure of Sarasota, FL passed peacefully in her home surrounded by love and family at the age of 91.

Maryann was a loving wife of Tommy McNure for 60 years.  Originally from Lyons, Illinois, she and the family were members of LaGrange Bible Church for over 30 years.  They moved to Sarasota in the mid-1980s to live out their retirement dream.  She was a loving mom of three children.  She and Dad loved boating and was an avid water skier and she taught her children to water ski.  She loved to roller skate and at one point skated in a local roller derby.  Her husband Tommy played guitar while they both sang at events and churches, even recording a single on a 45 lp record.  She enjoyed shelling at the beach, sewing, and lots of arts and crafts.  She and Dad loved the Lord and are celebrating their reunion in heaven with Jesus.

Family members include her children, Sharon (McNure) Pittenger of Sarasota, FL, Tommy McNure and his wife Michelle of Owosso, MI and Teresa (McNure) Depken of Sarasota, FL.  Grandchildren are Angel (Pittenger) Morris and husband Brian; Noelle (Pittenger) Reynolds and husband William; Shardae Pittenger; Nina (McNure) DeVreese and husband Richard; Alyssa McNure, Christopher Depken and Brianna Depken.  Great Grandchildren are Brecken and Everest Morris, Penn and Kierney Reynolds, and Scarlett and Ronan Greatens.  Sister-in-law, Darlene Losacco, along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Maryann is predeceased by her husband, Tommy McNure.  She is also predeceased by her brothers Joseph Losacco and his wife Almeda and John Losacco, and son-in-law, Carl Depken.

A memorial (Celebration of Life) will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church, 5700 Palmer Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34232.

Losing my mom and Aunt Maryann just 2 months apart is heartbreaking. She was truly the sister mom needed, never failing to check up on her (and me) demonstrating God's love. We'll meet again...

I just learned about the passing of Maryann McNure. My condolences to the family for their loss. I know she will be missed. I have great memories from my youth of Maryann at LaGrange Bible Church. She was one of my leaders in Pioneer Club. I loved being a part of that program and Maryann played a large role in spiritual help, songs, crafts and Bible memory. My husband David (Samuelson) and I (Janice Caldwell) loved when Tommy and Maryann sang in church services. It was never often enough for us. We also have GREAT memories of the time we spent as families in the many activities at LaGrange Bible Church. May your days be filled with the good memories you had together with your parents; and as we move ahead in our family circles, remember every day is precious. Yours truly and God bless, Janice

Loved when Maryann and Tommy McNure sang in front of the church. They had such a pure sound and you knew they loved the Lord. Maryann will remain a fond memory and a true testament of what a Christian woman is. Love to all the McNures in this very sad time. Our hope is in heaven and she is awaiting us there. Amen
