Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Matthew Aart Schumacher announces his passing after a long fight with pancreatic cancer, on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the age of 42.

He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and after many moves settled in Cape Coral, Florida, Matthew attended Cape Coral High School Class of 1997 and attended Edison State College.

Matthew will be lovingly remembered by his former wife of four years, Nicole and his children, Dominic and Avery. He is survived by his loving sister, Michele Lorenc, and will be missed by his nieces, Samantha, Abigail and Amber along with his nephew, Michael III.

Matthew was predeceased by his mother Marian, his father Michael Sr, and his brother Michael Jr.

A Burial at Sea ceremony and Scattering of Ashes for family only, will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 9:00am to 11:00am. Family please meet at Salty Sam’s, 2500 Main Street, Fort Myers Beach, Florida 33931

A gathering will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 11:30 to 3:30pm at Pizza Fusion, 12901 McGregor Blvd Unit 5, Fort Myers, Florida 33919, to pay respects and reminisce about Matt.

Donations in Matthew’s name may be made to the Cancer Society.
