Obituary

Maureen Zelinsky, 84, of the Villages passed away October 18, 2020 at her residence surrounded with her loving family.  Maureen was born August 24, 1936 in Montrose, Scotland to the late David and Isabella (Crumm) Wilkie. She was also preceeded by a son Scott Eugene Zelinsky.

Maureen is survived by her husband Vaughn L. Zelinsky of the residence, sons; Vaughn A Zelinsky of Bourne, Mass and David J. Zelinsky of Haymarket, VA, Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Maureen was a social, active Navy wife, deeply involved in Lawnbowling and Ceramics for the majority of her life. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren when she had the opportunity. Her family and friends will always remember her as a kind, loving person. She was a past member of the Lakeland Lawnbowling Club and The Villages Lawnbowling Club.

    With deepest sympathy to you Vaughn and your family. We’ll remember Maureen as being kind and generous with a great sense of fun. Her laughter was infectious! We have so many good memories from Montrose Bowling Club and dominoes nights. Rest in peace Maureen.

    I send my condolences to Vaughn and the rest of the Zelinsky family. I remember Maureen as being a kind and caring person, and she surely loved animals-especially Benjii. And my dog-Honey. I so enjoyed seeing her at our morning dog gatherings at Tierra del Sol. RIP Maureen.

    Vaughn and Maureen made Christine and myself so welcome when we moved to Florida. Maureen never lost her Scottish charm and warmth and was a good friend for many years.

    Vaughn, Vaughn, David and family I was deeply saddened to hear of Maureen's passing. I have many fond memories of our Navy Wives days in many countries and our tenpin bowling days as "The Haggis Bashers". Jim and I send our deepest sympathy to you all.
