Obituary

Maxine Cheryl Garon, age 68, passed away peacefully and surrounded by love in her home on September 18th, 2020. She was born August 24th, 1952 in Illinois to George and Sylvia Levitt. She married her soulmate, best friend, and “her buddy” Robert Garon, on April 28th, 1974.

In 1998 Maxine went back to college to complete her degree and become a sign language interpreter. She worked as an interpreter until she retired and moved to Florida in 2016 with her husband. Her heart was so passionate and on fire for the deaf community that she continued to interpret even in Florida at her church. She made it her mission to preach to the deaf community and make sure they had every opportunity to hear the word of Jesus. She was always signing worship music and the sermon in church.

For many years Maxine focused on homeschooling her children and took their education very seriously. She taught her children how to love
and live life in a way that pleases the Lord.

Maxine loved to be a blessing to others and be active in her church. She loved serving food at various missions events, teaching children at bible camps, and greeting people as they entered the church building.

Maxine is survived by her husband, Robert, children Robert (Bob) Garon II (Lisa), Christopher (Chris) Garon (Linn), and Deborah (Deb) Bertulis (John). She was also beloved Coco to her grandchildren Brayden, Brooklyn, Austin, Tyler, Cameron, and Kailey.

Maxine’s life was a living example of a Proverbs 31 woman, “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” “A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised”

Please join us in celebrating Maxine’s life Thursday
