Meri Crowley 05-30-1947- 07-06-2018 Meri E Crowley, age 71, of Ormond Beach, passed away peacefully after a long illness on July 6, 2018. Meri was born in Malden, Massachusetts on May 30, 1947 to Margaret H (Mulrey) and Edward J Fothergill. She is survived by her loving husband Steve and two sisters, Laureen (Steve) and Debbie (Don) and two brothers, John and Paul. She is also survived by many nephews, nieces and cousins. Meri had a lengthy career as secretary to the Chief of Police in Norwell, Massachusetts. She enjoyed her job and would often arrive at work an hour early. After retirement. Meri and her husband Steve moved to Bear Creek, an active adult community in Ormond Beach, Florida. She loved her new home and quickly made many friends due to her kind and cheerful way. And although not part of Meri’s retirement plan, she was soon a long term, part time employee of Bear Creek management. Prior to her illness, Meri was president of the Bear Creek Social Club for close to two years. In that role she and her board members were responsible for organizing the community’s social activities including dinners and dances. And Meri loved to dance, oh how she loved to dance. When the music started she was often the first one, fashionably dressed, on the dance floor, laughing and having a good time. In keeping with Meri’s wishes there will be no service or viewing. . The family asks that donations in Meri’s memory be made to Florida Hospital Hospice Care.
