Obituary
Mike Baez was born November 30th, 1959 in Manhattan, New York living in New Jersey until attending high school at Forest Lake Academy in Apopka, Florida. Mike passed away December 19th, 2015 after a long and hard fought battle with multiple health issues. Through it all, he was able to keep his sense of humor surprising and inspiring people with his resilience and determination and continuing to go to work every day until mounting physical challenges overwhelmed his resolve.
His relatively short life was full in experiences. He graduated from Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tennessee in 1985 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion. Mike developed a lifelong interest in tennis and remained a NY Mets and NY Giants fan no matter where life took him. Teaching English in Korea for a year gave him a fondness for Asian culture and its people.
Making the best of what life offered, he unknowingly continued to touch people who knew him with his depreciating sense of humor and infectious laughter. His example encouraged others to make the best of their own lives and trust in God’s plan and timing for each of us.
He was devoted to his wife, Robin, of twenty-seven years sharing the ups and downs of life as a team, and enjoyed celebrating God’s goodness by cruising together. Though Mike wanted no recognition or memorial, certainly this humble man will be remembered for his strength and courage amid the harsh challenges he faced daily.
