Obituary
Michael B. White Sr., 76, a resident of Edgewater Florida, died peacefully on August 3, 2021. Mike was born on May 6, 1945, to Julian and Doris White. He was raised in Palmer Park, Maryland and attended Bladensburg Senior High School where he was a three-letter athlete (Football, Basketball and Baseball). Mike enlisted and served in the Army from 1964 until 1966. Mike was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Maryland Terrapin Basketball and was a loyal Washington Redskins fan. In the mid to late 1970’s Mike was instrumental in the development of the Davidsonville Athletic Association where he coached, developed new programs and served as its president. Mike later coached football at South River Senior High School with Hall of Fame coach Joe Papetti and Dave Sumney. Coach White made an impact on many young athletes over the years and will be remembered as a great teacher of the game.
Mike is survived by two brothers Bruce, and Freddie White both of Maryland; three children, Michael White Jr (Colleen) of Chester, Maryland, Kristen White of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, and John White (Amy) of Simpsonville, South Carolina and six grandchildren, Ryan, Philip, Megan White (Maryland), Jordan, Jack, and Luke White (South Carolina).
Mike will be interred at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on September 13, 2021 at 11:30am. Mike left specific requests that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made on his behalf to The American Kidney Fund. (www.kidneyfund.org).
I am saddened to learn that my cousin Michael White has passed away. While we lost touch long ago he will always have a special place in my heart.
