I met Mike while working at the Naval Academy. He was a security guard, and his station was close to my office. I spent a lot of time talking with him. We shared an interest in cars. Soon we became good friends. I went to his house quite often, and also enjoyed talking with his mother. I found out that as a teenager, I worked with his sister and mother at a local grocery store. After the death of his mother, it was evident that he was very lonely. You can only imagine how surprised I was to find out that he had a girlfriend and later was getting married. The first time I met Sharon, I realized why they got along so well, she is the female version of Mike. They both had a quick wit, were very friendly, and had great personalities. I was sad that he moved to Florida, and was looking forward to the day that I could spend time with him again. Once he moved, he told me how happy he was to be in Florida and spending time with Sharon. I was sad to hear that he had been diagnosed with cancer. I was heartbroken when Sharon called to tell me he had passed away. Goodbye old friend, you will truly be missed, but never forgotten.

I well remember when Michael was born.
We were all born at home. I used to love to dress him. Later in life our Mom said "we were twins, born 9 years apart". Most of our life he called me, lots of times daily. He loved to discuss prices of everything, and we talked around 2 hrs covering many topics. I do miss him dearly, he was taken much too soon, and non of us was prepared for our terrific lost.

Uncle Michael was commonly known to family as "Big" Michael (as I was "Little" Michael). He & I had loads of fun together. Working in his garage was a regular thing for us. In later years, we always kept in contact. Most recently, I made the trip to Florida to visit him at Christmas at his new house. I will never forget the times that he & I had together !!!

Uncle Michael and I listened to music together, rode around to fun places in his various cars, ate Ann’s Footlong Hotdogs, and went to Kings Dominion. Michael always remembered my birthday and gave thoughtful gifts. He has always been a big part of my life, and I miss him very much.

Uncle Michael and I would listen to music together, go on drives in his various cars to meat places, eat Ann’s Footlong Hotdogs, and have fun at Kings Dominion. Michael was a big part of my life. He never forgot my birthday, and he put a lot of thought into the gifts he gave. I will always love him.
