Obituary

Michael Joseph Fitzgerald was born on 8 January 1954. He died on 6 October 2021 in Silver Springs, Florida, the flattest city in the U.S. He was a great man that positively contributed to the lives of everyone he met. Michael died at the age of 67 from heart attack.

There is a saying by Og Mandino, “Work as though you would live forever, and live as though you would die today.” These words are reflections of Michael’s life on earth and words he would tell anybody who would listen.

Biography of Michael Joseph Fitzgerald
Michael Joseph Fitzgerald was born in Hartford, CT. Although he has no surviving children by blood, He helped raise his daughter (as she shall be named) Shannon Fitzgerald-Fahs. He has two prominent grandsons, Clifford Fitzgerald and Brandon Gonzalez. For all of his time on earth, he made sure he was able to bring out the goodness in other people whether it be his family, friends, co-workers, or even a complete stranger.

He supported those he could in all different ways: Whether it be financially, by offering advice or wisdom he gained over the years, or simply by just keeping them company. All of these put together make him a man who aspires to be the greatest version of himself and to inspire greatness in those around him, to those that were his family or not.

He attended the University of South Carolina Beaufort where he obtained a Bachelor’s in Computer Science.

Notable Achievements of Michael Joseph Fitzgerald
Michael Joseph Fitzgerald wasn’t a man who came to this world without having an impact. The impacts he had are in the minds of family and friends. His notable achievements on earth are something of encouragement to friends, families, and colleagues. One of those being that he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of South Carolina Beaufort. The only person in his family to have a degree. Wise Sayings of Michael Joseph Fitzgerald
When he had the breath to associate among the living, he was tagged a man of wise sayings. These sayings came to him through his quest for more knowledge and his desire to never become complacent. Two of his prominent sayings and their interpretations are presented here.

He would usually say, “Always do your best. What you plant now, you will harvest later.” The interpretation being; If you give everything all that you have, later on you will reap the benefits of your work.

He would also say, “Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.” The interpretation of this is that for humans who have the determination to be great the term, “failure” is non-existent to them. If you do fail, it’s just another step closer to success.

These two quotes are inspired by his favorite book “The Greatest Salesman in the World” by Og Mandino. Which is a book that he would always recommend people to read.

His funeral will be 5 November 2021 at 12:30pm at Bushnell Veterans Cemetery.
