Obituary

Michael Thomas McElroy, 75, was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on August 13th, 1946.  He was the son of Warren and Dorothy McElroy. Upon graduating from high school he joined the United States Air Force where he was eventually stationed at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor, Maine. This is where he met the love of his life Pamela LaChance. They celebrated 54 years of marriage this past June. He was a sheet metal journeyman for 15 years with Bangor Roofing.

Mike and Pam’s adventure in life lead them to Florida with their three children. He became a painting contractor and worked hard. He had a passion for football and was a huge New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed being outside, golfing and cookouts with his family.

Michael is survived by his wife Pamela, three children Kimberly Kramer (Robert), Misty McElroy, Michael McElroy (Yvonne). Six grandchildren: Christina (John), Jimmy Ray, Ashley, Taylor (Wyatt), Gabrielle (Roman) and Tiarra. And two great granddaughters Ella and Madilyn.

Also survived by siblings, Kris Kuhn (Brian), Kathy Brazeau (Bob) and Warren McElroy.

Military honors will be held at a later date at The Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

I'm in high school and starting next year I will have to start looking at colleges. I know I want to find a college just for creative writing. I love writing stories of all sorts, and I know of a couple colleges that specialize in creative writing. But where would you recommend? Remember, I'm talking about creative writing, not journalism. Any suggestions?.
