Obituary
Michael (Mickey) T. Tabone, 86, of Ocala, Florida passed away in his home surrounded by family on June 19, 2021.
Born on January 22, 1935 in Detroit, MI to Emmanuel and Mary Tabone.
In 1956 he married his wife of 64 years Mary (Janice) Dodson. Together they shared the joy of 4 children, Thomas, Jennifer, Lisa and Tracy.
An Army Corporal Veteran of the 106th Ordnance Heavy Maintenance division who served in the Korean War and earned many distinguished awards including: Korean Service Ribbon, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Service Medal; he was extremely proud and honored to have served his country. He was privileged in 2017 to be selected to go on an Honor Flight whose mission is to transport American veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to honoring those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Mike could always be seen wearing his military veteran’s hat and was so humbled and honored by anyone who thanked him for his service.
He worked for Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI as a Plastic Die Modeler for 31 years and retired in 1984 at the age of 48 at which time he moved to Naples, Florida.
Mike will be remembered as an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer, coin collector and craftsman, always working on an invention to get rich quick. Most of all he will be remembered as a joke/story teller. There was never a time in his life that he did not have a joke or story to tell. He was admired by his family for his amazing knack for making friends and being there for them. Once he got to know you, he was your friend for life.
Mike was predeceased by his mother Mary, father Emmanuel, son Tommy and sisters Caroline (Lena) Smith, Evelyn Reale, and Mary Brincat.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary (Janice), daughters Jennifer (Douglas) Reinink, Lisa Erd, Tracy (Robert) Gooden, sister Joan (Raymond) Knapp, in laws, Charles Brincat, June Foster, Joan (Gene) Sullivan and Jerry (Diane) Dodson. Grandchildren Lauren (Jacob) Korolewicz, Eric Ostrowski, Nicholas (Rebecca) Reinink, Max Erd, Sarah (Clay) Shanks, Matthew Gooden, great grandson Stanley Reinink and many cherished nieces & nephews .
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 15th from 3-6 pm at

Mike will be laid to rest with military honors on Friday, July 16th at 10am at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
