Obituary
Michael “Mike” Lewis Brown, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024. Born on April 25, 1946, in Pensacola, Mike married his beloved wife, Donna, on December 17, 1976, and they built a life together filled with love, family, and adventure.
Mike dedicated his career to working at NASA, where he proudly served in the control room for the Apollo and Gemini programs. Later, he was an original Cast Member at Walt Disney World, where he worked as an electrical inspector, a role he held for 40 years until his retirement in 2011.
A passionate lover of the outdoors, Mike enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States. He went on several cruises, including trips to the Caribbean and Alaska. After retiring, he cherished time spent playing cards with his grandchildren and friends from the community.
Mike will be remembered as a kind man who loved his family deeply, especially his children, grandchildren, and his dogs. He had a special place in his heart for his pets, Bailey and Poppy, whom he loved very much.
Mike is survived by his wife, Donna; sons Christopher (Darcie), Stephen (Lisa), and Shawn (Melissa); and daughter Victoria (Gary). He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren: Hayden Kindell (Catelyn), Anthony Brown, Chloe Kindell, Kyla Abbuhl, Gracie Abbuhl, Lexi Burke (Hayden), Rylie Abbuhl, Mason Abbuhl, Jackson Abbuhl, Christopher Abbuhl, and Carey Brown, Jr., as well as a great-granddaughter, Lillian Kindell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Jackie (Melba) Brown, and his son, Carey Michael Brown.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Scottish Highlands Clubhouse in Leesburg, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, FL.
