Obituary
Michael P. Golas, of Homosassa, FL (formerly, Forestdale, MA) passed away September 30, 2023 after a brief illness at the age of 76. Mike was born to Stanley and Stella Golas on February 19, 1947 in Pawtucket, RI.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Wiggin), with whom he spent over 50 years of love, happiness and adventure.In addition to his beloved wife, he is also survived by his four children, Steven and wife Becky and grandchildren Jacoby and Cora of Lexington, KY. Adam and wife Lindsay, of Littleton, CO, Nancy and her partner Sam Meknassi and grandchildren Maya and Nora, of Cachan, France and Peter of Forestdale, MA along with his brother Stanley Golash and wife Carolyn of Florida.
Mike was full of love and joy and never met a stranger. He was quick to offer a smile, a helping hand and a silly “Dad” joke. He spent the majority of his career working in human services where his kindness and empathy were on full display. His true passion in life was for his family, especially his beloved grandchildren to whom “Pop” was a treasure trove of silliness and love. He also had a tremendous love of the ocean and passion for fishing. He could routinely be found chasing striped bass at the Popponesset Spit on Cape Cod or finding any reason to have a fishing pole in his hand when and wherever he could.
A celebration of life will be held late Spring on Cape Cod(MA).
