Obituary

Michael Patrick Rahill, 68, of Orlando FL passed away peacefully on August 1st at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Michael was born March 28th,1955 in Portsmouth, VA at the Naval Hospital to Jim and Marion Rahill.

Mike fought the good fight, enduring a 10+ year battle with Alzheimer’s and finally claiming victory, he began his journey to be with the Lord. His soul is finally free from the body that was no longer serving him.

As part of a Marine Corps Family, Mike moved frequently allowing the experience of new towns, new schools and new friends, many who have remained lifelong.

Mike was an athlete, a competitive swimmer in his youth and an amazing runner. He graduated from Lyman High School (Longwood FL) in 1973 where he held the school record for several years in multiple track and field events. He was also successfully engaged in both Cross Country and Distance Running.

Besides being a Father and Husband, some of Mike’s favorite achievements include his significant role in the design and execution of Epcot’s world showcase, and the landscaping at all three Universal Studios Parks.  He loved everything outdoors, a love he shared with his family and which was reflected in his varied art creations as well as his choice of books and films.

Michael was predeceased by his Mother Marion Rose Rahill, Father Major USMC James Rahill and three brothers Timothy, Tony and Jimbo. Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 36 years, Janice Rahill, three children, Catherine Rahill, Michael Rahill, Amy Rahill-Blake, Grandson Leo Rahill and fur babies Bailey Rahill, and Ginger Blake.

Mikes surviving siblings are Peter Rahill, Paul Rahill and MaryBeth Bridges.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the celebration of life which will be held at his favorite place, home. The service will be held on September 9 from 10am to 2pm at 7215 Mailler Street, Orlando, FL 32818. Please dress very casual and comfortable as the service will be held partially outside.

I was really sorry to hear this news. Everyone has complaints of some sort at various times in their lives. I suppose Mike did too, but I can honestly say that I cannot remember a single negative word from him in all the years I’ve known and worked with him. My thoughts are with his family. May his memory be a blessing.
