Obituary
Michael Robert Thomas passed away December 10, 2024, in Ocala Florida.
Michael “Mike” was born December 22, 1940, in Berkeley, California. He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he graduated from East High School and the University of Utah, earning a degree in finance.
Michael was a member of the Utah National Guard, and was activated in 1959.
After being discharged he moved to Hawaii where he met his wife, Linda. Upon returning to the Mainland in 1966, he embarked on his career with United Air Lines and then with
U.S. Airways (American) as a successful corporate executive in Washington D.C.
He and Linda retired in 1996 to live in Park City, Utah, and to Florida in 2012.
Michael was known for his devotion to his wife and sons, his generous spirit, his sense of humor, and his love of the game of tennis. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Michael is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda, and son Robert. Preceding him in death are son John, infant daughter Jennifer, mother Wanda Clayton Thomas, and sister Janet Reid Hough.
