Michael A. Rohde, 89, of Edgewater died peacefully on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at his daughter’s home.
Michael was born October 9, 1920 in Galeton, Pennsylvania. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Force. He had a distinguished 35 year professional career at the Rochester Gas & Electric. Michael’s life exemplified caring and service to his fellow man through countless hours of helping others. He was forceful in his convictions and often took on causes to promote justice and fairness. Michael was a devoted husband and father to his family and left lasting memories of life’s lessons with his children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion after 58 years of marriage and his grandson, Jimmy his favorite fishing buddy.
Michael is survived by his devoted children, Michael S. and Nancy Rohde of Meriden, CT, Terry and Tana Rohde of Denver, CO, Richard and Charmane Rohde, of Denver, CO, and Pat Gratzer of Edgewater, FL; four loving grandchildren, two adored great grandchildren and his close friend, “Southern Belle” Virginia Roche.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held 4:00PM, Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Magnolia Village Clubhouse, 1830 Old Mission Road, Edgewater.

Ours deepest sympathy in the passing of your beloved Dad. My mom and step dad were Peter and Della Bakunas. Peter died in 2002 and mom died in 2003, Dick and Bernice Briemer (mom's sister), who was your parents neighbors in Edgewater passed in 2005 and 2006, their son Jack just passed in 2009 of lung cancer. So many memories... Magnolia Village was a very nice place. Again, may your dad be at peace now. God Bless...
