Michael Scott Kent, 50, of Oak Hill died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at his home. Michael was born August 15, 1959 in Falmouth, MA. He grew up in Greensboro, NC and entered into the United States Navy in 1981. Michael served his country for 20 years retiring in 2001. He recently moved back to the New Smyrna Beach area settling in Oak Hill from North Florida. Michael enjoyed fishing, riding his bike around town, and being in the outdoors. He is survived by his loving parents, Mary and Ian Kent; brother, Ian P. Kent all of New Smyrna Beach; two uncles, Earl Wise and Bruce (Margie) Kent and aunt, Gay (Walt) VanBrunt.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Southeast Volusia Humane Society, 1200 S. Glencoe Road, New Smyrna Beach, 32168.
Private services will be held.
