Michael Guillen, a highly decorated professional boxer born in New Jersey, died unexpectedly October 2, 2016 in Edgewater, Florida at the age of 27. Born June 21, 1989 in Orange, New Jersey, Michael lived in Puerto Rico for 17 years, before moving back to new Jersey at the age of 19, then to Florida at the age of 20. Michael is survived by his mother, Katia Bermudez, father Luis, maternal grandmother Maria E San Martin, brothers Steve and Justin, sisters Kenia and Sophia, his aunt Mary Bermudez, cousins Aileen, Michelle, Camilo, Michael and Dylan and his children Mila, Jean Michael, Jamileyska, Jaden and TJ. Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather. Michael was a devoted father and highly respected in the boxing community. Boxing and family were the most important things in his life. He had countless amateur fights in Puerto Rico and for the past four years trained with Pete White in Port Orange, Florida where he turned pro. Michael had a passion for boxing and once said ” Being in the ring, proving myself to be the best is an amazing feeling, its like entering a different world, like something you see in the movies” A funeral service is scheduled for October 12, 2016 from 6to 8pm at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home 620 Dunlawton Avenue Port Orange, Florida 32127.
Michael Guillén, un peleador muy altamente condecorado nacido en New Jersey, murió inesperadamente el 2 de octubre de 2016 en Edgewater, Florida a la edad de 27 años. Nacio el 21 de junio de 1989 en Orange, New Jersey, Michael vivió en Puerto Rico por 17 años, antes de mudarse de regreso a New Jersey a la edad de 19, después a Florida a la edad de 20 años. A Michael le viven su Madre, Katia Bermúdez, Padre, Luis, su abuela materna María E San Martín, hermanos Steve y Justin , hermanas, Kenia y Sophia, su tía Mary Bermúdez, primos Aileen, Camilo, Michelle, Michael y Dylan y sus hijos Mila, Jean Michael, Jamileyska, Jaden y TJ. A Michael le precedieron en muerte sus abuelos paternos y su abuelo materno. Michael fue un padre ejemplar y muy respetado boxeador en la comunidad. El Boxeo y la Familia eran las cosas mas importantes en su vida. Tuvo innumerables peleas como aficionado en Puerto Rico y por los pasados 4 años entreno con Pete White en Port Orange, Florida, donde so convirtió en Pro. Michael tuvo un pasión por el boxeo y una vez dijo: “ estar en el ring, probándome contra los mejores es un sentimiento asombroso. Es como entrar a un mundo diferente, como algo q ves en las películas” El servicio funeral será el 12 de octubre de 2016 de 6:00pm a 8:00pm en Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home 620 Dunlawton Ave Port Orange, Florida 32127
