Obituary
Michael Lindy Tinker, Sr., 73, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023 at The Village on the Isle surrounded by his family. Michael was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 4, 1950, to Martha Mckeel Tinker and the late Donald Lindy Tinker.
Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Tinker.
In addition to his mother, Martha, Michael is survived by his sons, Michael Lindy Tinker, Jr., Donald Tinker and wife Lindsay of Florida; grandchildren, Braeden Tinker, Cameron Tinker, Emerson Tinker; sister, Amy Caito-Hutchison and wife Michelle of Florida, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Michael proudly served his county for over 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, retiring as a Captain. Michael also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969-1970. During retirement, Michael became an avid bowler and was a sports fanatic. He enjoyed fishing too but most importantly he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A burial with military honors will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Sarasota National Cemetery at 11:30AM with Steve Celinski officiating.
