Obituary
On Tuesday, March 22, 2022 Michelle D’Anne Higgins of the Hacienda South community passed away peacefully with her husband and daughter by her side. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Jim Higgins; daughter Katie (Chris) Ennis; son Michael Masson; brother Jeff (Cindy) Bryan; and their three children; mother-in-law Millie Higgins; brother-in-law Steve Higgins; and sister-in-law Cindy Higgins. She was preceded in death by her mother Julia Bryan; brother Michael Bryan; and father-in-law Dick Higgins.
Michelle treasured spending time with her family and friends, bowling with her husband, playing poker with her girlfriends, and cruising around the Caribbean and Mediterranean. She was a lover of Hallmark movies, an avid reader, and an extremely generous philanthropist. She spent her career as an Executive Assistant with RTI International, an Independent nonprofit research institute dedicated to improving the human condition.
Although Michelle only spent the past few years in The Villages, she quickly grew to adopt and love the spirit of The Villages and it’s residents. So much so, that she became the Vice President of the South & West Hacienda Women’s Club and was nominated to become the President of the Club, prior to her diagnoses. She previously held positions with the same organization, as the Women’s Club Charity Chair, and the Friday Golf Chair.
Words cannot express the extraordinary love and exuberance she had for life, the love of her family, and dedication to making the world a better place. She will forever be missed.
