MICHELLE’S CELEBRATION OF LIFE

MICHELLE, IN THE 70’S & 80’S, WORKED AT AIRBORNE EXPRESS AND WAS HAZARDOUS MATERIAL CERTIFIED. SHE WAS INVOLVED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE TRACING SHIPMENTS ALL OVER THE WORLD AT AIRBORNE EXPRESS. SHE ALSO WORKED PART-TIME IN MY TAX BUSINESS IN THE 80’S COPYING RETURNS IN OVERLAYS FOR ADDITIONAL COPIES.

SHE ENTERED INTO MY LIFE, ONLY AFTER HER FRIEND, WHICH WAS ALSO MY GIRLFRIEND AT THE TIME,  DROPPED ME. SHE WORKED FOR RAVEN REALTY IN THE 90’S, HERE IN FLORIDA, HAVING VARIOUS CLERICAL RESPONSIBILITIES. SHE WORKED FOR WATER WERKS OF SW FL IN THE 90’S ALSO HAVING VARIOUS CLERICAL RESPONSIBILITIES. SHE WORKED FOR DESIGN CONCEPTS & CONSTRUCTION  POSTING POOL PERMITS AND HANDLING ALL CLERICAL DUTIES.

SHE HAD WHAT WE WOULD CONSIDER AN AGGRESSIVE NATURE ABOUT HER. SHE, HOWEVER, HAD A VERY WARM, POLITE AND CARRYING DEMEANOR IN WHICH SHE OFTEN EXHIBITED. SHE LIKED TO DRINK WHICH EVENTUALLY CONTRIBUTED AND LED TO SEVERAL OF HER HEALTH PROBLEMS. SHE ENJOYED BOATING IN THE GULF AND ON THE CANALS WITH OUR WELLCRAFT BOAT, WHEN IT RAN. SHE ENJOYED SUN BATHING AND SITTING NEXT TO THE POOL, WHEN THE SUN WAS OUT.

SHE LIKED TO WATCH ON TV DR. POL AND ANYTHING INVOLVING ANIMALS. SHE WENT TO THE LIBRARY OFTEN FOR BOOKS TO READ AND TAPES TO LISTEN TO WHICH WAS HER PASSION. SHE USED HER I-PD EXTENSIVELY AND OFTEN UTILIZED HER “FACE BOOK” ON THE INTERNET. SHE LOVED TO CROCHET BLANKETS AND HUGGABLE VARIOUS ANIMALS WHICH WERE BEAUTIFULLY DONE. SHE LOVED TO SHOP AT HER FAVORITE STORE (KOHL’S) BUT ONLY IF SHE RECEIVED THE 30% DISCOUNT.

SHE WAS AN EXCELLENT COOK AND MAKER OF MANY DELICIOUS DESERTS WHICH FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS OFTEN RAVED ABOUT. IT’S HAS BEEN 1 YEAR FROM THE TIME SHE FELL IN THE KITCHEN CONTRIBUTING TO HER MANY HEALTH PROBLEMS.

FOR ALL THE ABOVE REASONS, I WILL TRULY MISS HER AS MY LOVABLE, CONSIDERATE, PARTNER IN MY LIFE.

ALL MY CONTINUED LOVE TO MICHELLE IN THE CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE

MICHELLE’S FATAL PASSING

THIS FATAL ENCOUNTER STARTED IN DECEMBER OF LAST YEAR WITH A BED SORE WOUND TO HER BACK; THAT BECAME INFECTED AND IN FEBRUARY REQUIRED HOSPITALIZATION FOR 8 DAYS.

WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL, SHE LAPSED INTO A COMATOSE CONDITION BUT RECOVERED AND WAS RESPONSIVE AFTER 2 DAYS. AFTER THIS HOSPITAL STAY, MICHELLE WAS THEN TRANSPORTED TO A NURSING HOME FACILITY IN CAPE CORAL TO SPEND 20 DAYS IN REHAB WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY.

HOWEVER, HER CONTINUED DETERIORATING HEALTH CONDITION PREVENTED THIS AND SHE WAS PUT INTO ISOLATION WITH TREATMENT TO HER BACK FOR THIS SEVERELY INFECTED WOUND. MICHELLE ALSO LAPSED INTO THIS COMATOSE CONDITION IN WHICH SHE WAS COMPLETELY NON-RESPONSIVE.  SHE RECOVERED OVER TIME AND I REMEMBER AN INCIDENT ON A DAY I VISITED.

SHE WAS IN THE PHYSICAL THERAPY GYM ON A STATIONARY BIKE AND IN FRONT OF SEVERAL PATIENTS AND NURSES PRESENT, LOUDLY PROCLAIMED “I WISH I COULD GO HOME AND SLEEP NEXT TO DICK AGAIN”.  EVERYONE NEARBY SMILED AND LAUGHED.

ON THE LAST DAY OF HER STAY AT THE REHAB FACILITY, SHE AGAIN LAPSED INTO THIS COMATOSE CONDITION AND WAS CONVEYED BY AMBULANCE BACK TO THE HOSPITAL IN CAPE CORAL AND PUT IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT STILL IN THIS COMATOSE NON-RESPONSIVE CONDITION.

THE NEXT DAY FOLLOWING HER ADMISSION, I VISITED HER IN THE ISOLATION ICU ROOM, AND WITH SEVERAL NURSES ATTENDING TO HER, WITH ME ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE BED, SHE TURNED HER HEAD IN MY DIRECTION AS I SPOKE;  I THEN BENT OVER AND TOLD HER HOW MUCH I LOVED HER AND HOW MUCH I NEEDED HER BACK WITH ME.

I OBSERVED WATER SUDDENLY PRESENT IN THE CORNER OF HER LEFT EYE WHICH HAS EMOTIONALLY EFFECTED ME GREATLY. I WANT TO BELIEVE THAT WAS HER ANSWER TO MY LOVE TO HER AND HER RESPONSE IN RETURN.

THE WOUND NEVER HEALED AND CONSEQUENTLY THIS  COMPROMISED AND DAMAGED HER IMMUNE SYSTEM TO THE POINT THAT MANY ADDITIONAL HEALTH PROBLEMS ENSUED WHICH FATALLY CLAIMED HER ON THE 7TH OF MARCH THROUGH  A CARDIAC ARREST FAILURE OF THE HEART.

THIS HAS BEEN THE HARDEST THING EMOTIONALLY THAT I HAVE EVER HAD TO ENDURE AND ENCOUNTER, BUT THE FRIENDS PRESENT HERE HAVE BEEN AND HOPEFULLY CONTINUE TO BE THE ROCK I LEAN ON IN THE COMING DAYS OF MY EMOTIONAL RECOVERY.  FOR THIS I HAVE BEEN BLESSED.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE PRESENT AND TO THOSE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND.

IT HAS BEEN GREATLY APPRECIATED.

DICK RINDT

It has been nearly one year since the passing of my beloved significant other of over 30 years.
I still love her in remembrance and miss her dearly.
I know she is in a better place and as I have expressed often in her abstention, my love for her will endear forever until that
time when we shall embrace together in the continuance of our love for each other.
May God watch over you, Michelle, and may he reward you with his blessed love and peace.
    I will see you soon.
    All my continued Love

Sweet Michelle, now out of pain and in the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus. Welcoming souls took her to her new home, eternal life.
Michelle's sense of comic humor, her passion for cooking, especially those superb deserts, her beautiful crochet work, and her zest for the Packers will be missed by us all. But what will be missed the most, Michelle always found time to be compassionate and caring to every one who knew her.
She took her last motorcycle ride into the clouds and we know in our hearts she will always be taking good care of her partner, her best friend, the love of her life, Dick.
Please Michelle be the air beneath our wings until we all are together with you in heaven. We love you, sweet Michelle.

Dick, so sorry for your loss of Shelly ( and ours too). Our friendship goes way back to the old Milwaukee days when you and I played racquetball together, and then we became friends, along with my wife Gail. When Shelly came into the picture it became a 4 way friendship and we sure had lots of fun together. Do you remember our 3-day weekend up north? Also a few trips to Las Vegas ( circus/circus)-. We shared some good times and lots of laughter. Shelly always provided something to laugh about. She was always such a sweetheart- never negative- never complaining- but always enjoying life. I"m sure you will have many wonderful memories to keep close to your heart.
Dick,- i will especially miss her emails, her recipes, and her humor. She was special.
We love you, denny and gail hunter

Remembering the wonderful memories I have working next to Shell for nearly ten years at Airborne Express. Her wit and and sarcasm was so fun and endearing. It has been my honor to have remained a friend of Shell's over all these years. She and Dick were so kind to come and visit me in Green Bay. Dick, my heart goes out to you. Rest in peace my friend Shell. Love, Cindy Norman

    Dick,
We are sorry to hear of Michelle's passing. Thank you for reaching out to us at this time. As Michelle's cousin, growing up in Wisconsin I always enjoyed the family gatherings at uncle Bobby and aunt Vicky's "farm". Uncle Bobby was my mom's brother. My wife Dixie enjoyed sharing crochet and yarn crafts with Michelle. The past year was a tough one for the Ziem brothers, we lost Mark in March and John in November. I know words can't say enough, but I am sorry for your loss. Please know we are thinking of you and would like to be a family you can come to in any way at any time.

    Dick,
Michelle and I used to enjoy tormenting you when we would go on a shopping road trip. She knew you wouldn’t mind when she bought something but she liked to pretend that you would. We worked well together cleaning the vacation homes and we both missed doing it. She was a good friend and I will miss her.

    Dick,
We have known you and Michelle since we became a part of our street community. While time has had many of us move on to other aspects of our lives, you both have remained good and loyal friends, never refusing to lend a hand when asked. We will miss Michelle, and want you to know that we are here for you.

    God bless both of you.

My heart goes out to you. I know how much you and Michelle loved each other. She was always there for a good smile or a laugh! I'm sending my deepest sympathies and hugs to you from Wisconsin. She was so lucky to have someone who loved her as you did. May the memories you shared with each other help bring you through this most difficult time. Love, Cindy
