Obituary

Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother Michelle (Long) Prislupsky of New Smyrna Beach, FL passed away in her sleep at home Sunday, December 17th, 2023.

Michelle was born June 16th, 1951 in Endicott, NY.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Mike; children Keith (Janet) Horton of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Brian (Jennifer) Horton of Fenton, MI, and Justin Sullivan of Orlando, FL; brother Paul (Charlene) Long of Endicott, NY; grandchildren Gabe Horton and Lily Horton, of Fenton, MI; Aunt Vilma Ripa of Endicott, NY.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Lillian Long.

She will be missed by many step children, step grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Michelle had a deep love for helping others. She dedicated her time and energy working at Habitat For Humanity for 17 years. She was loyal, dependable, straightforward, independent, and selfless.

Her passion was her family and tirelessly helping the lives of those she loved. She was always there for others as a friend, colleague, mentor, or simply a loving ear to listen to others. Even after her retirement, she did not stop helping others who would reach out to her for assistance. She also worked tirelessly at one of her son’s (Justin) restaurants in New Smyrna Beach. She was a strong woman and dedicated mother who raised her 3 boys often by herself with great dignity. Michelle was so proud of her boys and her grandchildren who brought her great joy.

She loved her many dogs over the years and had a soft spot for animals that required extra attention.

Her celebration of life service will be December 28th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Baldwin Brothers located at: 1 Causeway N, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Michelle’s name to the Southwest Volusia County Humane Society.
