Obituary

Our Mother Mildred Ripke was born  Mildred Estelle Wicks to John Jacob Wicks and Rose Voelker on October 12, 1924, in Plainview NY.  The youngest of eight of  children, five girls and three boys.  She is survived by her brother Richard Wicks, of Hicksville, NY.   Mom married Jonny Ripke, who was from Reessum Germany, on June 3rd, 1956, and had two Daughters, Heidi Ripke-Curcio of Oviedo, Florida, and Meta Ripke-Wieber of Four Oaks, North Carolina.   She was a proud Oma to her three grandchildren, Jon Ripke Wieber, Adam Thomas Wieber, and Melissa Rose Wieber.   Mom and Dad retired fulltime to Four Oaks, North Carolina in 2001.  In 2006 she became widowed with the loss of our Father.  They were married a little over 50 years.  In 2009 Mom moved to Oviedo, Florida with her dog Schatzie.  There she spent the remainder of her time traveling to baseball games and other places with Heidi and her Husband George.    Our Mom in our opinion was the best Mom ever.  Mom was at home with her two girls when she passed on April 12, 2011. In lieu of love offerings, donations can be in Mildred Ripke’s honor  to Hospice of the Comforter of Orlando, 480 W. Central Parkway, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714, or online at http://www.hospiceofthecomforter.org/en/page/make-a-gift There will be no services at this time.  Please check back at a later date.

    Dear Heidi,
John, Kristen and I will always have fond memories of Millie. My mom said she was happy she got to meet her. I'll miss her great sense of humor and her smile. I am glad that Millie is no longer suffering and that she was able to pass peacefully at home.
