Obituary

Miriam Bailey, 74, of Ft. Myers, passed away on December 5, 2018 at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice, Bonita Springs, FL. She was born on June 15, 1944 in Chicago, IL to the late Abraham and Edith (Gentner) Rifkin. She grew up and graduated from John Adams High School in South Bend, IN. Miriam worked as a Moving Consultant, and was a devoted member of the Bat Yam Temple of the Island Synagogue in Sanibel, FL. She loved reading, cooking, spending time at the beach, and was a dear friend to many. Miriam is survived by her son, Dennis Bailey Jr. and his wife Marye; her former spouse, Dennis Bailey and his wife Diane; her brother, Marvin Rifkin; her niece, Laura Fickett; her niece, Amy Carter; her great niece, Scarlet Fickett; her great nephew, Walt Fickett; and her great niece, Lena Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Edith (Gentner) Rifkin, and her daughter, Beth Ann Bailey. A Memorial Service is being held Friday, December 14th, 11:00, at the Fellowship Hall at Bat Yam Temple of the Islands in Sanibel. Flowers and donations can be directed towards the Bat Yam Temple. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society, Ft. Myers, FL.

    She was true to her heart & beliefs. She was always encouraging in her words. I will miss her dearly.
