Obituary

Myerl Marie Fentz, 94, of Mid Florida Lakes, Leesburg, Florida, passed away peacefully at the UF Villages Hospital on Thanksgiving evening, November 26, 2020 with her loving family and daughter-in-law by her side.
She was a devoted wife of 58 years to the late William F. Fentz. Marie, as she was known, was the oldest of three sisters born in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 2, 1926. She was the daughter of Granville “Jack” Hammons and Alice Moeller Stumph. A graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis, Marie was a woman of many talents and interests, including singing at the USO club during WWII, quilting, painting, and traveling. She was a secretary at Bova Fruit Company, and bought a Florist Shop with a dear friend, Jean Cherry, which she successfully ran for many years. Her faith was an important part of her life and she was a member of the Altar Guilds at St. Matthews in Indianapolis as well as St. Thomas Episcopal in Eustis, Florida.
Marie was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and first-rate homemaker who loved caring for family and friends. After her retirement, she enjoyed the many friendships and activities at Mid Florida Lakes. The main focus in her extraordinary life was her terrific husband, Bill and her children including Barry (Shirley), Doug and Susan. Her sisters Karen Boling and Sharon Garing were regular visitors at her home. .Her door was always open and her heart cherished her friends and family.
She will be greatly missed but we know that she is resting peacefully in heaven!
