Obituary

Nancy Christenbury (Crump) Hagin of Charlotte, NC passed away on June 12, 2022 of natural causes in the comfort of her Florida home. At age 84, she was preceded in death by her husband, WA Hagin Jr., and two children, Edward Dirk Crump and Teresa Crump Davis.  Nancy is survived by her daughter, Jackie Crump-Proffit, two sisters, Angeline Keziah and Wanda Sechrest, 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.  Nancy had many notable accomplishments throughout her life, some of which include being the first female ever selected for Governor’s School, National Junior Red Cross member, Miss East Mecklenburg beauty queen, as well as being the focus of numerous newspaper stories. A Queen’s College graduate, Nancy was instrumental in salvaging and running a family- owned business and was also a key player in running a large land developing company.  Her faith was also important to her. As a teenager, Nancy started a prayer room at her first place of employment, Southern Bell. She carried her faith throughout various trials in her life and openly shared it with others in the hope that they too would come to know the love of Christ.  Those who knew Nancy also knew that she was rarely seen without a camera in hand. She was an avid photographer and loved capturing memories of her Children and Grandchildren during their visits to New Smyrna Beach, holiday parties,  monumental life events, beautiful Florida sunsets and even rocket launches from her beachside balcony.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 5:00PM, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at Benton’s Crossroads Church, (Fellowship Hall) 109 East Lawyers Road, Monroe, NC  28110.

Nancy will live on in the memories of her family and all of those who knew and loved her. In honor of her memory, donations can be made to Dan and (granddaughter) Kristen Radke. As YWAM missionaries, Dan and Kristin have done extensive work in Asia and continue to work overseas.
