Nancy Joy Moore Mattern
August 11, 1932-August 15, 2014
Nancy Joy Moore Mattern was born August 11, 1932 to Jack Davy Moore and Luella Koch Moore in Cuyohaga County Ohio. She met Dean Gordon Mattern, the love of her life, when she was only 14 and they were smitten with each other from that day on. Nancy was a hairstylist, real estate agent, and entrepreneur but, most importantly, a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to cook for her family and passes on her love of baking to her granddaughter Kassie. Nancy loved New Smyrna Beach and moved here in 1974. She and Dean loved travelling in their RV and walking the beaches of New Smyrna. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra McDaniel and her soulmate Dean in 2011. She is survived by her three sons Dean (Debbie) Mattern of High Point NC, Craig (Jane) Mattern of Tucker, GA and Kent (Kay) Mattern of New Smyrna Beach FL; a sister Jacqueline Schwartz of The Villages, FL and a brother Tom C Moore of Niles, OH. Special thanks to her friend, caregiver and companion of 4 years. Nancy leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
