Obituary

Nicholas ("Nick") George Kosmas, 69, of Hill Street, New Smyrna Beach, who peacefully entered into rest surrounded by his family at the Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center in Edgewater on March 9, 2011. He worked in the timeshare, travel, and vacation industry for more than 40 years.  He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.  Nick enjoyed traveling, boating, and fishing, but most of all, living for and loving his family.  He will be best remembered for his generous and kind heart, being a friend to everyone he met, and sacrificial love for his wife and family.  He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Pamela; daughter, Angella; son-in-law, John; grandchildren Megan, Jonni, Isabelle, Nicholas, and Jon Jon; brothers Paul, Steve and Jim Kosmas; and sister Margot May.    Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Volusia Southeast Care Center 4140 South Ridgewood Avenue Edgewater FL 32141. Life Celebration Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. A reception will follow.

    Aunt Pam, Ang,John, and Family,
    There are no words to express how much I loved Uncle Nick and Horse thought the world of him! Stories I have told my husband have had him laughing, especially when Uncle Nick would get me riled up! He was and always shall remain one of a kind! We love you and miss him!

    We were saddened to hear of the loss of Nick. We always enjoyed bumping into him around town and will miss Nick's teasing and that cheeky smile. What a huge personality he had. He always made you feel special.

    Our thoughts go out to Nick's family, rejoice in the wonderful memories knowing that is what Nick would want.

    This world would never be the same again without Nick .
    His warmth, kindness, generocity and love for his family were legendary.
    This Gentle Giant of a man, has touched all of our lives, in ways that no one would ever know. I was privileged to know Nick Kosmas and to have him as a close friend.
    Oh, so we are going to miss you Nick!
    I only wish I had another few minutes with you to say my good byes my friend! Your vibrant voice will always ring in my ears; "Ti kanis filos?, how is Darlene, how are the kids, when are we going out to dinner?
    Rest in peace my friend, and may God give you what you gave us all along, kindness, warmth, love and friendship. You are in a better place now, but we will always remember you.

    Pam, Angie, John, and Family: Nick’s love for his family, passion for his job, and generosity were like no other that I have seen. I am very Blessed to have known such a great man who I have learned so much from over the past 15 years.     For over 25 years,we were blessed to have Nick in our lives.Nick was more like a father to me,and i could't love Nick, and Pam more if they were my biological parents.He adored Pam,and was as proud as a man could be of his daughter Angie, and his grandchildren.respected and admired by everyone lucky enough to have known him.we will all remember how he brightened a room when he walked into it.Nick will never be forgotten,he will live in our thoughts and hearts always.     Nick would light up a room the minute he stepped in. He always told it like it was.

    Nick is one of those people that you meet rarely that brings a smile to your face
    just when you see him. He had a great spirit and loved life. I was reminded when I heard earlier today that maybe Robert Louis Stevenson best stated it" that a man is a success, who has lived well, laughed often and loved much." Based on that statement Nick was a major success. My thoughts and prayers are now with Nick's family, friends and his wonderful wife. I hope to see you again Nick as you are one of a kind.

    Not much one can say about a personality that could fill a stadium. Nick will be missed but remembered by anyone who came within a whisper of one of the great tales he could spin.
