Obituary

Nora Lee Shilinsky-Carlesi passed away after a period of declining health on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, in the care of Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers, Florida.

Nora was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she lived a full life creating many wonderful memories and made some special friends along the way.  Nora enjoyed caring for people and spent more than 10 years with various Catholic charities servicing the elderly and disabled communities.

She enjoyed her life with husband, John, for thirty-six years raising their family, traveling, and spending vacations in Florida where she enjoyed the beach lifestyle leading to retirement in Cape Coral, Florida.  Nora spent the later years of her retirement traveling.  The summer season would be spent in New England visiting family and friends, then returning home to the warmth of Florida. While visiting New England with her husband John, she loved to spend time with her children and remained friendly with their father Robert G Shilinsky and his wife, Marie.

Nora is survived by her sister Sharon (Frederick) Mercandante, daughter Pamela Saucier, son Robert G Shilinsky II, and his wife Jennifer Collins.  Nora is also survived by three grandchildren; Nicole Saucier, Matthew (Amanda) Saucier, and Celeste Yvonne; as well as, two great grandchildren, Emma Lavalle, and Travis Saucier.

The family is holding a private service.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The American Lung Association.

I have been blessed to have known Nora for over 40 years, growing up with her family & being best friends with her daughter Pam. There are so many good memories and fun times we all had together. In my younger years, I pretty much lived at their house in Sutton. After her family moved to Uxbridge, I was a permanent fixture at their home there too. She adored her family, loved spending time with them, her children and her grandchildren were her whole world. I will remember her laughter and at times giving me a well-deserved scolding for pushing her to the limit. I was fortunate enough to have made a trip to her home in Florida, she took me to all her favorite places, to one of the best flea markets I have ever been to & a trip to Sanibel Island which was amazing. She made the best fried green tomatoes, and her macaroni salad was one of my favorites. Nora will always have a very special place in my heart. When I think about her, I will smile. I will remember her for being a very special lady in my life. My heartfelt condolences to her family. Remember all the good times, be there for one another & know one day you will see her again. Sending my love to all of you during this sad and difficult time.
    Rest in Peace Gram.

REMEMBER ME To the living, I am gone.
To the sorrowful, I will never return.
To the angry, I was cheated.
But to the happy, I am at peace, and to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.
So as you stand upon a shore, gazing at the beautiful sea- remember me.
As you look in awe at a mighty forest, and it's grand majesty-remember me.
As you look upon a flower, and admire its simplicity-remember me.
Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, your memories of the times we loved,
The times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.

    I LOVE YOU MOM ❤
I know you are in good hands.
    Love, Pam ❤
