Obituary
Norma Hall Williamson of the Mayflower Retirement Community, Winter Park, Florida passed away December 20, 2023. She was born Norma Jean Hall on January 3, 1928 in Bluefield, West Virginia to John Campbell Hall and Dorothy Hall (neé Burgess). She was married to Robert Burwell Williamson, Jr for 70 years. He predeceased her in 2017.
After graduating from Bluefield High School she attended Bluefield State College. Introduced to Robert (Bob) Williamson by her older brother JC Hall the couple married in 1947. Norma was a homemaker raising their two sons first in Alden, PA and later Broomall, PA. In 1982 Bob’s work took them to the Greater Orlando, FL area where they remained through retirement.
Throughout her life Norma was active with her church. She was a member and later head of the altar guild at both St Alban’s (PA) and St Richard’s in Winter Park. She was a founding member of the St Alban’s Thrift Shop. She participated in various clubs in the community including the Women’s Club, Women’s Bridge Club and Women’s Bowling league. She and Bob spent many happy hours playing golf with friends and family. They also traveled extensively. In her last years she continued to enjoy activities at the Mayflower including chair exercise, table games and most of all the sing alongs.
Norma is survived by her sons Randolph L Williamson of Swarthmore, PA and his wife Carol and Stephen H Williamson and his wife Linda of Lebanon, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lindsay Williamson, Matthew Williamson, Stacey Webb and Josh Williamson, and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Richard’s Episcopal Church, 5151 Lake Howell Road, Winter Park, FL 32792.
