Obituary
Olive June Rabanus, 98, originally of Union City, Indiana, passed away on October 11, 2024, in Mt. Dora, Florida. Born on June 10, 1926, she lived a life filled with love, service, and dedication. A skilled comptroller in accounting, Olive worked for Central Florida Hotels for many years, bringing her expertise and diligence to every task.
She was passionate about music, serving as a choir and music director at Lockhart First Methodist Church, and enjoyed playing piano and golf. Olive’s deep involvement in her community included active participation in the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile, organizations that were dear to her heart.
A resident of Tavares, Florida, for over 40 years, Olive will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Glenna Nadine Wellman; her grandchildren, Anthony Kyle Wellman, Danielle Anne Martin, Cory Adkins, Kristy Adkins Debay, Kayla Wellman, and John Martin Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Collier Adkins, Evan Adkins, Palmer Adkins, Lucy Debay, and Delilah Debay. Olive was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Mooney, her son, Dennis Duane Adkins, and her second husband, Ray Rabanus.
A Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Baldwin Brothers at 1350 E. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL 32778
